Big Ten Week 12 Recap

Wow, what a day for Big Ten Football!

Big Ten East

  1. Michigan Wolverines
  2. Ohio State Buckeyes
  3. Penn State Nittany Lions
  4. Michigan State Spartans
  5. Maryland Terrapins
  6. Indiana Hoosiers
  7. Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

I am going to start off with the story of how Maryland almost upset Ohio State in College Park. The final score was 52-51, with Maryland QB Tyrrell Pigrome missed wide open WR Jeshaun Jones for a two-point conversion to win the game. Overall I feel as though the Terps played one hell of a game. Pigrome was 6-13 for 181 yds with 1 TD, while OSU QB Dwayne Haskins was 28-38 for 405 yds with 3 TD and 1 INT. The run game is really where Maryland killed it. As a team, the Terps ran for 339 yds, with most of those yards came from redshirt freshman Anthony Mcfarland who had 21 Carries for 298 yards and 2 TDs. Go watch him break a 75 yard TD run on OSU!!

The Ohio State running back J.K. Dobbins who had 37 carries for 203 yds and 1TD. Next week the Buckeyes will host the Michigan Wolverines for “The Game”. It will decide who gets to play in the Big Ten Championship game. Whereas the Terps will play Penn State to become bowl eligible.

Now onto the Michigan vs Indiana game. The game was a little bit closer than I wanted it to be but I kinda figured it would be because Indiana is one of those “sleeper teams”. Shae Patterson was 16/28 for 250 yds, 1TD, and 1 INT. That was the first intercept Shae threw since the Maryland game back in week 6. on the other side of the ball, Indiana QB Peyton Ramsey was 16/35 for 195 yds with 1 TD and 1 INT. You already know who Michigan will face next week. The Hoosiers will face Purdue next week, where both teams will fight to get that 6th win to possibly play in a bowl game.

Well, it’s not a good day for Michigan State fans. Their trash team lost to a now (4-7) Nebraska team by a final score of 9-6. Both offenses played terribly with only the Kickers scoring points for both teams. The last game in the Big Ten East Division was Rutgers vs Penn State. as you could expect #14 Penn State defeated Rutgers with a final score of 20-7 that’s really low score when Rutgers is 0-8 in Big Ten games.

Big Ten West

  1. Northwestern Wildcats
  2. Wisconsin Badgers
  3. Purdue Boilermakers
  4. Iowa Hawkeyes
  5. Nebraska Cornhuskers
  6. Illinois Fighting Illini
  7. Minnesota Golden Gophers

I’m gonna start off with saying I honestly NEVER EVER EVER thought I would see that The Northwestern Wildcats are heading to Indy to play for a Big Ten Championship. The Wildcats are currently 7-1 in Big Ten play and clinched the top spot after beating Wisconsin back in week 9. The Big Ten west wasn’t the best this past year. The Badgers are currently 5-3 in conference play. Both Purdue (who smacked the shit out of Ohio State) and the Iowa Hawkeyes (smacked the shit out of OSU last year) both went 4-4 in Big Ten games, while Nebraska is 3-5. Now for the bottom of the barrel in the West, you get Illinois and Minnesota who are both dumpster fires. The final week of the regular is next week so lets get it!!!!
